ISarah Pidgeon and Paul Anthony Kelly enchanted us all in Love Story, very much bolstered by the costume department’s attention to detail and allegiance to the late Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jnr’s real-life style. As well as plucking at heartstrings, the show propelled a new generation of cigarette jeans and tortoiseshell headband-wearing girls to pack out The Odeon and drive up the prices of Calvin Klein and Yohji Yamamoto on The RealReal.
And it seems like both Sarah Pidgeon and PAK aren’t ready to let go of the Love Story looks just yet, either. The on-screen couple, real-life pals stepped out for a “For Your Consideration” event hosted by FX last night in Los Angeles, wearing CBK and JFK Jnr-coded looks. Pidgeon, styled by Emma Jade Morrison, opted for a black and drapey, off-the-shoulder Yohji dress with an asymmetric sleeve. Sticking to Carolyn’s minimalist sensibilities, she wore no jewelry and some barely there black stilettos. Bryce Scarlett styled her tousled blonde hair in a middle part, while Nina Park painted her face in her more contemporary way, with a softly diffused eye, suede-like skin, and blurred lip.

In the months since the Love Story press tour, Pidgeon and Morrison have established a cool and youthful sartorial identity: yes, there’s been some classic Calvin Klein Collection moments à la CBK, but there’s been some effective fashion risk taking too. Take her posy pink, puffball Balenciaga gown at the Actors Awards, or the toothpaste-toned Chanel dress.
