There is something delightful about the mastery of the perfect T-shirt. The designer who comes to mind is Zoran Ladicorbic, simply known as Zoran. Beginning in the late 1970s and into the 1990s he perfected the “less is more” minimalism fashion repeatedly returns to. Using luxurious cottons, silks, wools and linen to emphasize the simplicity and ease of wardrobe staples — T-shirts, shorts, sweatshirts, skirts, button-down shirts, pants and tunics — elevating their wearability for day and night.
Zoran was “shining his own special star” as WWD noted, describing his collections as “purely understated elegance.” His aesthetic attracted fashion icons from Lauren Hutton to Isabella Rossellini to Rick Owens, all of whom were influenced by Zoran.
