Anthropologie’s Pilcro Launches Fall Denim With New Washes and Colors

Denim is fueling newness and creating fresh storytelling opportunities for Pilcro.

On Monday, the “only-at-Anthro” brand debuted its fall collection and campaign, delivering seasonal washes, signature denim silhouettes and a creator-led social activation designed to inspire customers with new ways to wear jeans.

As a key growth driver within Anthropologie’s owned-brand portfolio, Pilcro continues to strengthen its position as a destination for denim. The company reports that searches for Pilcro have increased 5 percent over the past year, and the brand has generated more than 1.2 million organic Instagram impressions.

“I think the most exciting thing about Pilcro is that we’re building a brand with a very distinct point of view. We aren’t trying to be everything to everyone, and we’re certainly not trying to chase every trend,” Richa Srivastava, chief creative officer, design at Anthropologie, told SJ Denim. “We’re focused on creating beautifully designed pieces that feel relevant today but still have longevity. For me, that’s always the goal—to create something that feels special enough to stand out but effortless enough to become part of someone’s everyday life.”

Denim is the foundation of the collection. “We always think about it in the context of the entire assortment because it’s one of the pieces our customer lives in every day,” Srivastava said. She added that Anthropologie has “always embraced a certain amount of contradiction,” and that’s where Pilcro denim shines.

“We love something romantic paired with something a little more undone, something polished paired with something more relaxed. Denim is often the piece that creates that balance,” she explained.

Rather than focusing on entirely new silhouettes, the design team chose to explore new washes and finishes that make “familiar favorites” feel fresh. The collection certainly taps into the trend for colored denim, offering offers sandy neutrals, frosted greys, soft pinks, marbled textures and vintage tints with brown and green tones.

“There’s a lot of texture and nuance in these pieces, and I think that’s what makes them feel special. They have personality, but they’re still easy to wear every day,” Srivastava said.

“We love experimenting, so we spent a lot of time layering colors and wash techniques to create more depth and dimension,” she added. “One of my favorites is our ‘Aliota wash’ on our Kayden which is a beautiful blush pink wash layered over an indigo base which combines hand-done techniques like wire-tying, pigment spotting, and marbled effect. It’s a work of art.”

Pilcro’s best-selling Kayden, a high-rise barrel fit, anchors the collection, though Srivastava points out that the market has moved past the era of there being one “it” jean. “That’s probably the biggest shift I’ve noticed. I think people have become much more sophisticated in the way they shop denim. They’re paying attention to proportion, shape, fabrication, and finish in a way they perhaps weren’t before,” she said.

Other fits in the fall collection include the Jet Taper, a relaxed fit with a lower rise and articulated seaming that creates a curved shape through the leg, and the Lex Taper, with a slightly higher rise, slanted pockets and a forward side panel that Srivastava said creates a flattering line on the body.

“The fun part of designing denim is that tiny changes can completely change the personality of a pair of jeans. A slightly different rise, a shifted seam, or a different leg shape can make something feel entirely new,” she said.

Designers and consumers are embracing that sense of freedom. Srivastava noted that there seems to be “less concern about following rules,” allowing Pilcro to introduce a more sculptural shapes, richer washes, or unexpected colors. More important, she said consumers immediately understand how to make it their own.

That mindset is carried into Pilcro’s fall campaign. The 360-degree marketing strategy includes social-first storytelling, a dedicated Pilcro catalog, in-store experiences and an integrated digital campaign designed to inspire customers.

In addition, Anthropologie is launching The Wash Takeover on Aug. 6. The creator-led social campaign will spotlight more than 70 creators across TikTok and Instagram and showcase the Kayden in multiple washes, across diverse body types.

Barbra Sainsurin, Anthropologie Group’s global chief marketing officer, said the campaign underscores the value of authentic styling.

“Fashion discovery continues to evolve, and today’s customer is inspired by real people, authentic perspectives, and communities she trusts,” she said. “With Pilcro’s fall campaign, we’re bringing together product, creators, and storytelling in a way that reflects how our customer shops—connecting her with the people and perspectives that help shape her personal style.”

The brand promises more opportunities to encourage consumers to express their individual style.

“As we look ahead, I think you’ll continue to see us experiment—with silhouettes, with washes, with color, and with the way people experience the brand. And I think that spirit of curiosity and creativity will continue to define where the brand goes next,” Srivastava added.
