Kaia Gerber never met a little black dress she didn’t love.
As the model and actor begins her globe-trotting tour to promote her forthcoming show, The Shards, she has adopted the LBD in its many forms. First came the Hepburn-esque Prada number she wore while arriving at Good Morning America. Then, following the New York premiere, there was the slinky Norma Kamali gown with illusion straps. Later, she opted for a Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy-inspired slip dress and shawl, seemingly ripped straight from the Love Story wardrobe department. Finally, a minimalist short-sleeved Calvin Klein maxi dress with a low, scooped back befitting the scion of the ultimate ’90s supermodel. The LBD, it contains multitudes.
Now, Gerber has reached her final form in a couture LBD. For the London premiere of The Shards, she and stylist Emma Jade Morrison chose a romantic sheer black gown from Maria Gazia Chiuri’s Fendi couture debut, which hit earlier this month. Gerber let the look—with its plunging neckline and flowing, ruffly tendrils—do the talking, opting for minimal Jessica McCormack jewelry, black peep-toe mules, and a simple updo.
