THE WHAT? Lush has expanded its packaging-free cosmetics portfolio with the launch of new naked shower products, reinforcing its long-term strategy to reduce packaging waste and promote solid-format beauty products.
THE DETAILS The company has introduced five limited-edition Shower Gummies alongside four new chromotherapy-inspired naked shower gels for the UK and Ireland. Since launching its naked cosmetics range in 2005, Lush says it has eliminated more than 15,000 tonnes of plastic packaging, with packaging-free products now accounting for 58% of all individual products sold globally. Around 45% of its year-round product portfolio is now sold without packaging. Designed with ethically sourced ingredients and formulated without preservatives, the new launches are positioned as long-lasting, travel-friendly alternatives to traditional bottled toiletries.
THE WHY? Lush continues to demonstrate how packaging-free product formats can support sustainability objectives while creating product differentiation and reducing reliance on single-use plastic. The expansion highlights growing industry interest in refillable and packaging-free formats as brands respond to consumer demand for more sustainable beauty solutions and evolving environmental expectations.
