This past Friday evening in the Hamptons, there was one particularly desirable place to be: the Ferragamo dinner at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton. The Florence-based label returned to the beloved hotel for its second summer in a row, this time gathering friends to celebrate the unveiling of its four-day pop-up shop, with Gabrielle Union-Wade serving as the gathering’s co-host.
“We had an event here last year, and we behaved, so they allowed us to come back,” Daniella Vitale, CEO of Ferragamo Americas, told Vogue with a laugh. “This is where our customers are, so it was important for us to come to them.”
Guests arrived at dusk for a cocktail hour by the pool, where a bright red Ferragamo surfboard anchored the step-and-repeat, striped Ferragamo beach towels and pillows lined the pool chairs, and waiters passed around refreshing Ferragamo Spritzes topped with orange slices. As they settled in, they perused the pop-up space—the walls lined with sandals, colorful handbags, and printed beachwear. “The buyers really put a lot of thought into the curation,” Vitale explained during a run-through. “We wanted to make sure it is filled with pieces that people will walk out with and wear.”
Back outside, guests nibbled on bites of avocado sushi and pineapple-mozzarella skewers while admiring the ensembles of fellow attendees. Katie Holmes, Christie Brinkley, Rachel Zoe, Katie Couric, and Don Lemon were among those who had plucked full looks and accessories straight from the Spring 2026 runway. Holmes, who wore a textured skirt with a sheer button-down shirt, said her look came together effortlessly. “I love the fringe, and I felt like it was cool for summer,” she shared, “I’ve always been a fan of Ferragamo, so I’m happy to be here.”
As the light softened, the group made their way from the pool to a long table dressed in calla lilies and candles while twinkling string lights hung overhead. Vitale rose to toast the night’s host, calling Union a genuine inspiration. “Gabrielle is such an amazing advocate for the LGBTQ community and violence against women,” she shared with the group. “That’s really important to us. Everyone wants to talk about her style, but at Ferragamo, we want to talk about what she stands for.” Guests kept their glasses held high as Vitale concluded: “Avanti,” she said, implying full speed ahead. “Thank you all for coming.”
Dinner leaned into low-key elegance: a spicy kale salad opened the meal and became an instant conversation piece for its heat, followed by a choice of fish or steak, and an almond cake with strawberry sorbet to close.
Union-Wade told Vogue that the evening was an opportunity to bring together all the things that she loves. “I love entertaining, I love hosting, I love parties, and I love Ferragamo,” she smiled. “I’ve been building my community out here since we bought a place in the North Fork,” she added. “This feels like a night where I can bring that community and old friends together,” pointing to Katie Holmes, who became a fast friend after they filmed a movie together in Montreal in 2001. “Every time I get to see Katie, it’s awesome,” she shared. “And she’s also a Midwesterner!”
