Stantt Acquires Vastrm to Expand Premium Knitwear Offerings

Stantt, a technology-driven menswear brand, has acquired Vastrm, a men’s custom and ready-made knitwear brand. Terms were not disclosed.

Stantt, which was founded by Kirk Keel and Matt Hornbuckle in 2015, uses a patented DataFit proprietary body sizing system to help customers achieve a near-custom fit in dress shirts, trousers and tailored clothing. The acquisition of Vastrm expands the company’s product offering into polos, T-shirts, Henleys, quarter-zips and hoodies. Vastrm was founded in 2013 by Jonathan Tang in San Francisco and is backed by Y Combinator and is also known for its ability to deliver pieces for people with unique fits.

With the acquisition, Vastrm’s knitwear collection will be incorporated into the Stantt platform and offered to specialty retailers through wholesale channels. Tang will remain with the combined company as a strategic adviser and investor.

“This acquisition represents a natural extension of who we are and where we’re headed,” Keel said. “We are thrilled to bring Vastrm’s premium knitwear offering and customer base into the Stantt world. Jonathan and I have been friends for years, often discussing the natural synergies between Stantt and Vastrm. I’m excited that our shared vision is now a reality — strengthening Stantt’s wholesale and digital offering while providing our customers with an exceptional new knitwear collection.”

“When I started Vastrm, the goal was to solve the fit problem in premium knitwear. Over the last decade, we’ve built a dedicated community of customers and specialty retail partners who rely on us for quality and customization,” Tang said. “Joining the Stantt platform allows us to take that promise to the next level. Stantt has built a world-class, on-demand, low-inventory supply chain model that will streamline our operations and accelerate our growth, ensuring our partners get an even better, more efficient experience without losing the high-quality product they expect from us.”

Keel said Stantt intends to pursue additional acquisitions of menswear brands that can further increase the company’s reach.

“It took Stantt nearly a decade to build the infrastructure to operate a menswear brand in an entirely new way — with little to no finished goods inventory, a multichannel business spanning both e-commerce and retail, sophisticated digital marketing capabilities and a nimble back-office operation,” Keel added. “Vastrm is the first brand to join our proprietary platform, leveraging our shared services to accelerate growth. Our goal is to welcome additional brands to the platform beginning in 2027 and beyond.”
