There’s a serious case of the stripes going around and Rihanna is patient zero.
Last night, for dinner in New York City, Rih (who was joined by her baby daughter, Rocki) proved that there’s no such thing as too many stripes. Vertical, horizontal, thick, thin—nothing was off limits for the singer and mogul.
Leaning into the sporty mood du jour, Rihanna wore a navy crocheted Miu Miu track jacket with thick beige stripes running across the chest and down the arms. But while the jacket’s stripes were mostly vertical, Rih mixed them with a white body-conscious Junya Watanabe skirt whose navy stripes began around the thigh and thickened at the skirt’s below-the-knee flare.
Rih completed her look with heeled Gucci monogram thong sandals, red-lensed sunglasses, and her go-to pile of gold necklaces.
With the World Cup in full swing, street style is rife with track jackets, shorts, and pants—not to mention the jerseys!—but one needn’t abandon their tastes to join in on the hype. Rihanna, in her crocheted track jacket and clashing striped skirt, reminds us that even the fashion girls can meet the moment.
