The heat wave—or, to use local parlance, Le Canicule—may still be going strong in Paris, but its record-breaking temps and sweltering humidity can’t stop the stylish guests of the fall 2026 couture shows from arriving bedecked and bedazzled in their most opulent attire. Indeed, couture is fashion’s most resplendent art form, where every grand runway statement (so far, this season, that includes frocks lit by LED lights from within or embedded with live flowers) must be backed up by hours of obsessed-over, hand-stitched details. All of which makes clear why the métier, in our modern age, remains a marvel of creativity and craftsmanship.
From A-list celebrities (some fresh from Taylor Swift’s wedding extravaganza in New York) to VICs who pay top-dollar for these rarefied, one-of-a-kind creations, the streets have been filled with theatrical visions of embroidery, feathers, and much more. So while couture is a very serious business, the attendees brought a sense of optimism and joy with their traffic-stopping outfits. From Alexa Chung and Sabrina Carpenter in dramatic drapery from Christian Dior to Emma Corrin in winged Schiaparelli, scroll through to see what the best-dressed guests at the fall 2026 couture shows in Paris are wearing.
