THE WHAT? Unilever has appointed Hanny van Amerongen-van Enschot as Chief Research & Development Officer for its Personal Care business, based at the company’s London headquarters.
THE DETAILS Van Amerongen-van Enschot assumed the role in July 2026 after almost 15 years with Unilever. She most recently served as Vice President R&D Global Innovation Foods and Unilever Food Solutions, following a series of senior research and innovation leadership roles spanning food, digital transformation, packaging, product development and personal care. Prior to moving into Foods R&D, she led Personal Care R&D in Europe, focusing on skin care and skin cleansing. In announcing her appointment, she said she had begun visiting Unilever’s global R&D centres and highlighted the company’s scientific capabilities, innovation pipeline and research talent.
THE WHY? The appointment brings an experienced Unilever R&D executive back to the company’s Personal Care division, where she will oversee research and innovation across one of the group’s largest beauty and personal care businesses.
