Last night, Rima Edbouche attended her first FIFA World Cup match of 2026, flying from Paris to New York for France’s face-off against Sweden. (Les Bleus won 3–0.)
As the wife of French footballer Ousmane Dembélé, it’s fair to say that Edbouche, 26, takes in her fair share of matches, including the UEFA Champions League final last month where her husband, playing for Paris Saint-Germain, scored the team’s single goal against Arsenal.
Since marrying in December 2021, Edbouche has maintained a steady yet deliberately discreet presence as Dembélé has become one of the world’s elite attacking players. While he often notes the importance of her unwavering support, they are admirably guarded about their personal lives—including their daughter, who will soon turn four.
Yet you need only glance at her Instagram, with some 371,000 followers, to appreciate how her posts are a form of self-expression—and what a beautifully cultivated and serene impression she puts forth. As a burgeoning content creator, her softly lit glimpses of flowers, books, fashion, beauty, and coffee moments are refined counterpoints to what might otherwise qualify as WAG life.
Edbouche, who grew up in Paris (her parents hail from Morocco) and studied fine arts, weaves her faith into this composite picture, creating a closeness with her digital community even as she keeps her face hidden from view. Of course, this also means she can move through the world with a kind of Daft Punk anonymity—a decision that speaks volumes
Here, Edbouche gives Vogue a rare glimpse into her match day routine as Dembélé and Team France take the pitch.
Vogue: Do you have any rituals or superstitions on match days?
Rima Edbouche: Usually, two to three hours before heading to the stadium, I take my time getting both my daughter and myself ready. I like everything to feel calm and organized before the excitement of the match begins. If I’m feeling stressed, I also take a few moments for prayer and remembrance to help me feel grounded.
What was the experience like for you in the early days of attending matches?
Before discovering this world, I wasn’t really familiar with football, despite the fact that my father, brothers, and uncles have always been passionate about the sport. However, it was when I stepped into a stadium for the first time that I was deeply impressed by the sheer scale of the venue, the passion of the supporters, and the energy that filled the atmosphere. I was also struck by the love and devotion that fans have for their team.
