THE WHAT? Boots has expanded its late-night on-demand delivery service in partnership with Deliveroo following increased consumer demand for health, wellness and sun care products during the summer football tournament.
THE DETAILS Boots has extended delivery hours until midnight at 25 additional locations across the UK through Deliveroo, bringing late-night access to health and beauty essentials in major cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Cardiff. According to Boots and Deliveroo, orders for SPF products almost tripled in the hours before England matches, while hayfever tablet sales increased by more than 80%. The morning after matches, ibuprofen orders rose by more than 50%, reflecting increased demand for recovery products. Boots now offers on-demand delivery from more than 500 stores nationwide through Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat.
THE WHY? The initiative highlights the growing role of rapid commerce in health and beauty retail, with major sporting events creating new opportunities for retailers to capture demand for convenience-led purchases. It also demonstrates how consumer shopping behaviour is increasingly shaped by real-time events and the availability of on-demand fulfilment.
