Air Jordan 8 Retro ‘Chrome’ Release Date 305381-007

It’s been more than a decade since Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 8 Retro was available at retail in its “Chrome” colorway but this fall, the style will make its long-awaited return.

News of an Air Jordan 8 Retro Chrome reissue first surfaced in October and now, the release is imminent. With a launch set for September, official retailer e-commerce images have now surfaced from Solebox’s MBCY. 

Shots of the upcoming retro reveal that all of its signature details are intact including a stealthy black nubuck upper, white and silver accents and of course, shiny chrome on the buckles of the Air Jordan 8’s midfoot support straps. Although the dose of chrome is relatively light and most of the sneaker is accented with more of a flat silver shade, the Chrome nickname has lived on since the sneaker’s mid-2000s debut.

After arriving at retail in 2003, the Air Jordan 8 Retro Chrome received its first-ever reissue in 2015. It’s been in the vault ever since, but will soon receive its third release thus far.

While it doesn’t hold quite the same weight as the model’s original Aqua, Playoffs or Bugs Bunny styles, the Chrome colorway has nonetheless become a cult favorite over the years. Prior to news of a reissue surfacing, the sneaker frequently sold for more than $300 on secondary markets with numerous sales surpassing the $400 range, although interest has cooled off a bit with a new rerelease on the horizon. 

The Air Jordan 8 Retro Chrome is set to be released in full-family sizing on Sept. 12. The men’s style code is 305381-007 and is priced at $215 with grade school (style code 305368-007) at $165, pre-school (style code 305369-007) at $105 and toddler sizes (style code 305360-007) priced at $90.
