THE WHAT? La Roche-Posay has been appointed the exclusive suncare supplier for The Championships, Wimbledon, as part of a partnership focused on promoting sun protection and skin health awareness among tennis fans.
THE DETAILS The L’Oréal-owned dermatological skincare brand will provide sun protection support throughout the tournament, including the distribution of more than 500,000 sunscreen samples to attendees. Visitors will also have access to skin health education and complimentary consultations with qualified dermatologists. The partnership aligns Wimbledon’s efforts to improve guest wellbeing through enhanced shade, shelter and hydration facilities. Supporting the initiative is world No.1 tennis player Jannik Sinner, a global brand advocate for La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios suncare range, who will help promote awareness of daily UV protection. The collaboration comes as melanoma rates in the UK have increased by around 30% over the past decade, despite most cases being considered preventable through appropriate sun protection measures.
THE WHY? The partnership provides La Roche-Posay with a high-profile platform to advance its skin health and sun safety mission while reaching hundreds of thousands of consumers at one of the world’s most recognised sporting events. For Wimbledon, the initiative supports its broader commitment to enhancing visitor wellbeing and encouraging healthier behaviours during the summer tournament.
