PARIS – The couture debuts of Pierpaolo Piccioli for Balenciaga and Duran Lantink at Jean Paul Gaultier are among the highlights of the provisional Paris Couture Week calendar released Tuesday by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

Both will take place on July 8, Piccioli going first at 11:30 a.m. and Lantink returning to the traditional Gaultier afternoon spot at 5:30 p.m.

There will be 30 shows on the four-day fall couture schedule slated to run between July 6 and 9, with Schiaparelli opening proceedings on the Monday at 10 a.m. and veteran couturier Adeline André closing the week at 4 p.m. on the Thursday.

Calendar cornerstones such as Dior, Chanel, Armani Privé and Elie Saab will be taking up their traditional places throughout the week, which broadly sticks to its usual configurations.

On the Paris calendar for the first time are Manish Malhotra, the Indian couturier best known as the go-to for Bollywood stars and who made waves at recent Met Galas; and Standing Ground, the four-year-old brand of London-based Irish designer Michael Stewart that won the Savoir-faire gong at the 2024 LVMH Prize for Young Designers.

The latter will be showing at 6:30 p.m. on the Monday, while Malhotra will close the third day with an 8 p.m. show.

A handful of houses have moved to new spots, such as Imane Ayissi, now at 11 a.m. slot on July 6 after Schiaparelli; and Germanier, at 5:30 p.m. on July 7.

Among those returning to the official calendar are Iris Van Herpen at 12 p.m. on the Monday; ArdAzAei, who closes the first day with her 8 p.m. show; and André, who has been showing infrequently in recent years.

Dropping off the calendar this season are Gaurav Gupta, Julien Fournié, Phan Huy and Miss Sohee. Valentino is also not on the calendar as the Italian house has been showing one annual couture collection under the tenure of Alessandro Michele.

Meanwhile, the Paris couture schedule also noted that Maria Grazia Chiuri’s inaugural couture show for Fendi will take place “on the evening” of July 9 in Rome, as previously reported.
