Demi Moore Goes Extreme in Hot Pink Matières Fécales at Cannes

Demi Moore pushed her Cannes volume to its most extreme point yet on Saturday, arriving for the “Paper Tiger” screening at the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival in hot pink Matières Fécales.

Moore had already worked through two major Cannes modes this week: Jacquemus’ polished French construction and Demna’s red Gucci drama. At the “Paper Tiger” screening, her longtime stylist Brad Goreski pushed her into something bigger and less pristine, choosing a hot pink Matières Fécales runway look with raw hems, giant volume and a collection backstory rooted in wealth, power and excess.

The dress — Look 25 from Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection — came in a saturated fuchsia pink with a slick, crushed sheen. Dalton and Bhaskaran built the top around an off-the-shoulder line and an enormous bow shape that wrapped across Moore’s chest. On one side, the fabric ballooned over her upper arm; on the other, it kicked up into a large loop above the shoulder.

Below the tightly gathered waist, the skirt moved into ballroom-scale volume, with wide pink diagonal panels layered over darker tulle. Dalton and Bhaskaran left the edges rough and frayed along the hem and through the cutaway sections, keeping the dress from reading as straight princess fantasy despite the color and scale.

Moore punctuated the look with a pink pointed pump shape and a bow detail across the front, also from Matières Fécales. As for glam, she wore her long black hair down with a center part, and her makeup stayed in a soft pink hue complementary to the gown. She finished the look with Chopard earrings.

The choice pulled Moore’s Cannes wardrobe away from the cleaner French luxury lane she established earlier in the week. On Tuesday, she wore two Jacquemus looks: a polka dot fall 2026 dress for the jury photo call and a custom sequined bustier gown for the “La Venus Electrique” premiere. On Thursday, she wore custom Gucci in red, with folded fabric around the shoulders and a crinkled finish through the gown.

Matières Fécales’ fall 2026 collection gave the Cannes appearance a sharper undercurrent. In her review of the show for WWD, Lily Templeton described the season as a commentary on “the elite wrapped in terrific tailoring,” with Dalton and Bhaskaran looking at wealth, power and the 1 percent through extreme proportion, hand-worked surfaces and couture-like construction. Moore’s pink gown brought that tension onto the Croisette: glamour at full volume, with the seams still rough enough to show the bite.
