Zara Larsson brought her talents to the “Today” show on Friday to kick off the Citi Summer Concert Series, and she didn’t allow a shoe mishap to affect her performance.
The 28-year-old Swedish artist was at Rockefeller Plaza to perform a set of her songs including “Midnight Sun,” “Pretty Ugly,” “Stateside,” “Lush Life” and “Blue Moon.” She took to the stage in a signature Larsson look, showcasing a yellow nautical-themed, two-piece look punctuated by silver crystal-embellished heels — what looked to be a Liu Jo x Leonie Hanne pump style she frequently wears on stage in various colors.

Things got interesting during the “Lush Life” performance, when Larsson acknowledged one of her heels had broken, saying, “We gotta dance extra hard because I lost my heel.” She had “Today” cohost Sheinelle Jones on stage with her to do the viral dance associated with “Lush Life,” and Larsson kept the show moving despite her footwear debacle, the face of showgirl professionalism as she danced minus one stiletto on her right shoe.

By the time she returned to perform “Blue Moon,” Larsson had two fully functioning pumps again. The sparkling shoes complemented her custom crystallized seahorse top by Rohit Mane and custom sequined, fringy miniskirt by Sorcha O’Raghallaigh, which also featured under-the-sea details. Larsson’s footwear style leans toward bright colors, sparkle and shine, like the rest of her fashion aesthetic. For example, she wore dazzling orange Rene Caovilla sandals at the 2025 MTV VMAs, the brand’s Margot style, and went with an unconventional silhouette at iHeartRadio’s 2025 Jingle Ball with the open-toe Stretch Thong Boots from MM6 Maison Margiela in fuchsia.
