It’s become a tradition at Vogue Runway to track looks that made it from the runways (our obsession, obs) into the hallowed halls of the Met and and put on display in a Costume Institute exhibition. “Costume Art,” which considers the role of the dressed body in art and fashion, included some forever favorites, such as a gingham stunner from Comme des Garçons unforgettable “Lumps and Bumps” collection and Issey Mikaye’s molded bustier that Grace Jones so favored. It was exciting to see emerging talent not only on the red carpet but in the new Condé M. Nast Galleries, among them are Dilara Findikoglu, Dimitra Petsa, Ponte’s Harry Pontefract, Lu Chen, Melitta Baumeister, and Ottolinger’s Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient.
