THE WHAT? US skincare and sun protection brand Colorescience has appointed John Reed as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Mary Fisher, who has transitioned to Vice Chair of the Board as part of a planned leadership succession.
THE DETAILS Reed joins Colorescience following nine years at L’Oréal, where he most recently served as General Manager of Kiehl’s. He previously led CeraVe before and after its acquisition by L’Oréal, overseeing its development within the group’s Dermatological Beauty division. Fisher, who has led Colorescience since 2013, will continue supporting the company’s scientific strategy, medical advisory board and professional partnerships.
THE WHY? The appointment reflects the increasing commercial importance of dermatologist-recommended skincare and professional distribution within the global cosmetics industry. Reed’s experience scaling CeraVe and Kiehl’s positions Colorescience to strengthen its retail and e-commerce operations while maintaining its established relationships with dermatologists and other skincare professionals.
