THE WHAT? Beauty Tech Group Chief Executive Laurence Newman and Chief Technology Officer Andrew Showman have sold a combined £6 million worth of shares following a 57.6 percent increase in the company’s share price since its London Stock Exchange listing in October 2025.

THE DETAILS Newman and Showman each sold 750,000 shares at 400 pence per share, representing a combined 1.5 million shares, or approximately 1.4 percent of the company’s issued share capital. Following the transactions, Newman retains a 3.9 percent stake, while Showman holds 4.1 percent. The Cheshire-based beauty technology company, which owns CurrentBody Skin, ZIIP Beauty and Tria Laser, listed in London at a valuation of approximately £300 million. Its portfolio includes LED skincare masks and laser hair removal devices. The share sales follow strong trading performance, with first-half 2026 revenue increasing 44.3 percent to £79.7 million. The company is also collaborating with the University of Manchester’s School of Dermatology to explore AI applications in skin and hair analysis and clinical research.

THE WHY? The transactions highlight the strong investor performance of the beauty technology sector, with Beauty Tech Group’s revenue growth and rising share price demonstrating continued demand for at-home beauty devices despite wider consumer spending pressures. The company’s investment in AI-supported research also reflects the growing convergence of cosmetics, dermatology and consumer technology.
