THE WHAT? Mary Kay is accelerating the digital transformation of its direct-selling beauty model, expanding its My Shop e-commerce platform, AI-powered beauty technology and social-first initiatives as it seeks to engage a new generation of consumers and Independent Beauty Consultants.
THE DETAILS The company’s Mary Kay My Shop platform, launched in the US and Germany in 2025, expanded into Canada, Mexico and Spain this summer and is being progressively rolled out globally, providing consultants with personalised digital storefronts connected to e-commerce, payments, fulfilment and social media. Mary Kay is also investing in beauty tech through its AI-powered Foundation Finder, which analyses 151 facial points to recommend shades, while its new Global Social Squad brings together more than 70 Independent Beauty Consultants across 15 markets as social creators. The transformation is being supported by continued product innovation across skincare and complexion cosmetics.
THE WHY? Mary Kay is modernising its traditional direct-selling model to reflect the shift towards e-commerce, mobile shopping, social discovery and AI-enabled personalisation, while retaining its consultant network as a central part of the business. The strategy gives its sales force new digital tools and creates additional routes for product discovery and purchase as the company targets younger consumers and entrepreneurs.
